About project
Lōom is a project management tool built specifically for creative teams — designers, writers, and art directors who found tools like Jira too technical and Notion too unstructured. The goal was to build something that felt native to how creative people actually think and work rather than forcing them to adapt to a system built for engineers.
Challenge
The project management space is crowded and most tools suffer from feature bloat. Creative teams abandon them quickly because they add friction rather than removing it. The challenge was designing a tool that was powerful enough to manage real projects but light enough that using it never felt like work.
Process
Conducted in depth interviews with 15 creative professionals across different disciplines to understand how they currently managed projects and where existing tools were failing them. Built a detailed jobs to be done framework from the research, then used that to ruthlessly prioritise features for the first version. Went through three major rounds of usability testing before arriving at the final design.
Result
A clean, focused project management interface with a kanban view, timeline view, and a unique creative brief builder built in. The design reduced onboarding time by 50% compared to competitor tools in usability testing. Full handoff delivered including a component library, interaction specs, and a developer ready prototype.
