About project
Noir is a brand identity project for a high end photography studio specialising in editorial and commercial work. The studio needed a visual identity that matched the quality of their work — minimal, precise, and immediately recognisable.
Challenge
The photography space is saturated with brands that try too hard. The challenge was creating an identity that felt quietly confident rather than loud. Every element needed to communicate luxury without saying it explicitly.
Process
Began with a deep brand audit of competitors and reference brands across fashion and editorial photography. Defined three brand pillars — restraint, precision, and atmosphere — and let those guide every decision from the wordmark to the color palette to the typography system.
Result
A complete brand system including wordmark, sub mark, color palette, typography pairing, business collateral, and a brand guidelines document. The studio launched with a fully cohesive identity that positioned them confidently in the luxury tier.
